A Year in Pictures: 2017

January

1. Luna, Argos, and Ryan in the snow, captured with my then-new DSLR camera.
2. We got a selfie stick for Christmas. Hilarity ensued.

February

1. It was warm enough to hike in shorts in early February.
2. My lights set up in video production class.
3. A pile of puppies.
4. By the end of February, it was frigid again, but Ryan and I still attempted a short hike to see blue holes.


March

1. Kari, Kayla, and I hiked a "dangerous" trail at Red River Gorge.
2. My mom flew us to Florida for Spring Break.
3. My brother's shortly lived bleach blonde hair illuminated by the Floridian sun.
4. A fellow Collegian member and I filmed a documentary about the Collegian and the 2017 election.


April

1. Alan and I hiked Auxier Ridge in Red River Gorge.
2. Part of the Collegian team drove 29-hours straight to Minnesota and back to get The Year in Review.
3. Kari, Kayla, and I were all humbled to win an award in our respective majors.
4. We celebrated the upcoming wedding of one of my best friends since high school.


May

1. I graduated.
2. Mary and I filmed a wedding video.
3. Kari and I chilling with a statue of Abe Lincoln in Louisville.
4. Kari, Kayla, and I saw Mumford & Sons, my favorite band, in Louisville.


JUNE


JULY

1. I got engaged.
2. My family went on vacation to our family cottage in Pentwater, Michigan.
3. Ryan and I beside Minneopa Falls in Mankato, MN.
4. Ryan saying goodbye as I embarked on my first taste of grad school at MNSU.


AUGUST

1. I visited Kari in her new town of Marquette, Michigan.
2. Kayla and I also pretended to be a band cover.
3. Engagement pictures.
4. One of my best friends got married.


SEPTEMBER


OCTOBER

1. I got to drive home and see my pups during an unexpectedly long weekend.
2. Morgan Creek Falls in Marquette, Michigan.
3. Took my all-time favorite picture while visiting Kari in Michigan.
4. Ryan and I went to the Minnesota Zoo after he drove up to see Arcade Fire in concert.


NOVEMBER

Apparently all I did during the month of November was come home for Thanksgiving and get smothered by my dogs.


DECEMBER

1. Christmas lights at Sibley Park in Mankato with the MFA gang.
2. Best friends since 9th grade. One person now living in New Mexico. One in Minnesota. One in Frankfort. But we all came together for this photo.
3. Touring the Buffalo Trace Distillery with Kari, Kayla, and Ryan.
4. And because we have to end with a puppy, here is Daisy, Ryan's parents' adorable addition to the family.


It's been a weird year, full of changes, travel, and bravery. Here's to a 2018 that's jam-packed with more serendipitous adventures.
